Senior Urban Designer – Odisha Urban Design Hub (OUDH)

Location – Bhubaneswar, Odisha

Type – Full-time, fixed-term (3 years)

Organisation – Jana Urban Space in collaboration with Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUDD) and State Urban Development Agency (SUDA), Government of Odisha

About the Project – The Odisha Urban Design Hub (OUDH) is a flagship initiative to provide state-level technical support for urban design, public realm improvement, and capacity building. OUDH will work closely with SUDA, HUDD, and local municipalities to drive strategic interventions such urban design reforms, policy guidance, and deliver high-impact projects across Odisha.

We are seeking dynamic, mission-driven professionals to join our Bhubaneswar-based OUDH team.

Key responsibilities
• Lead the conceptualisation and detailing of urban design interventions.
• Develop public space guidelines and frameworks aligned to OUDH goals.
• Mentor junior designers and review outputs for design excellence.

Core competencies
• Urban form analysis, human-centric design, CAD/GIS proficiency.
• Strong visualisation and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of climate-responsive and sustainable design principles.

Minimum qualification and experience required:
• Master’s in Urban Design or equivalent.
• Minimum 8-10 years in urban design with a portfolio of implemented public space/street design projects.
