Shivaji Nagar is a dense, mostly commercial and extremely congested neighbourhood in the heart of the Bengaluru. It suffers from various problems, mobility being at the foremost, but all contributing to a poor quality of life. The neighbourhood improvement plan was based on a detailed analysis of the area, followed by broad strategic proposals with a vision to improve quality of life for all. The proposals were divided under the buckets of mobility, economy and environment. The integrated mobility hub, rejuvenation of Russell Market and Tender SURE roads in Shivaji Nagar, as part of the Bangalore Smart Cities Initiative were born out of this project.
