The design for the Parichaya Centres, which are in essence community centres located in informal settlements focusses on quick construction, easy replication, and are conceptulaised to be people-centric, climate resilient, modular and cost-effective. The Parichaya Centres provide a multipurpose platform for the community, to be used for social events, community interaction, recreation, vocational training, as well as livelihood and economic generating activities. The area of the centres varies from 100 SQM to 200 SQM and each unit costs 5,00,000 INR approximately. As of December 2020, 221 Parichaya Centres have been built across the state and 340 centres are under construction.
