Her work spans design, planning, policy, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on strengthening Bengaluru’s drainage systems while addressing flooding and water scarcity.
At Jana Urban Space, she contributes to initiatives focused on restoring and strengthening Bengaluru’s nallah and lake systems. As part of the Blue Green Bengaluru – Rejuvenation of Nallurhalli Lake’s inlets and outlets project, she supported project coordination, on-site implementation, and engagement with government officials, citizens, consultants, and contractors. She also co-authored a draft working paper examining barriers to implementing nature-based solutions in the city’s stormwater systems and helped design community outreach initiatives.
In parallel, she continues work on the Sustainable Waterways – Nallah Rejuvenation initiative by building an evidence base from global and local case studies and developing prioritisation frameworks to identify and reimagine priority nallah stretches through secondary analysis, site studies, and early stakeholder engagement.
She previously worked as an Urban Designer at Habitat Tectonics Architecture and Urbanism in Gurugram, contributing to the World Bank–supported Gurugram Metro Rail Transit-Oriented Development project. Her work involved GIS-based corridor analysis to inform TOD typologies and planning strategies, as well as landscape studies and inputs for regulatory and property development strategies along the corridor. Earlier, she worked as an Architect at Designers Forum on urban, landscape, and heritage projects.
Diksha holds an M.Arch in Urban Design from School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi and a B.Arch from GITAM University. In 2023, she represented SPA Delhi in a DAAD-funded international workshop with Heidelberg University and Kathmandu University, co-authoring the research report Tracing Senses of Un/Belonging in Kishangarh published in the Cross-Pollinate Handbook.
Outside work, she enjoys trekking, reading, writing, and exploring cities, art, and nature with a camera in hand.
